The Hydrogeology Geographic Information Systems (GIS) Graduate Certificate prepares graduates to meet the growing demand for GIS skills in the hydrogeology, both in academic research and other employment. The certificate is an option only for students with graduate standing in the Hydrogeology M.S. program in the Department of Geography-Geology.
The program of study that leads to a Hydrogeology GIS Graduate Certificate involves a series of three GIS courses, a total of 9 credit hours is required for graduation. Substitute courses will need to be taken for courses taken at other institutions.
Candidates for the certificate must complete:
All of the courses are elective courses for the M.S. in Hydrogeology and may be incorporated into the M.S. in Hydrogeology plan of study. This may or may not add hours to the current required coursework.
Unconditional admission to the program requires graduate student status in the Hydrogeology M.S. Program.
Application for admission to the Hydrogeology GIS Graduate Certificate is made through the Graduate School.
